Sorting by margin
Optimize profitability by promoting higher-margin products
Higher margin = higher profit
Profitability, Margin, Profit, Optimization
Configure sorting so that higher-margin products take priority in the results. The system automatically highlights products that bring you a higher profit while preserving relevance for the customer.
How margin prioritization works
Margin weight
Set how strongly you want to emphasize margin vs. other factors (relevance, sales performance).
Minimum relevance
Products must be relevant to the query — margin will not influence irrelevant results.
Absolute vs. relative margin
Sort by absolute margin in CZK or by relative margin in percent.
Combining with other strategies
Margin combines with sales performance, stock availability, and other factors.
A/B testing
Test different margin weights and measure the impact on conversion and profit.
Automatic updates
When product margins change, sorting adjusts automatically.
Use case scenarios
1. Profit maximization
High margin weight — prioritize profit over sales volume. Ideal for niche products.
2. Balanced strategy
Medium margin weight — a combination of conversion and profitability. The most common setting.
3. Volume sales
Low margin weight — priority on sales performance and conversion. Margin plays a smaller role.
Example
Search query: "bluetooth headphones"
Without margin sorting:
- Sony WH-1000XM4 (15% margin, bestseller)
- AirPods Pro (12% margin, popular)
- JBL Tune 500 (35% margin, less known)
With margin sorting (medium weight):
- JBL Tune 500 (35% margin) ↑
- Sony WH-1000XM4 (15% margin)
- AirPods Pro (12% margin)
